Final exam: without a dictionary

Latin II

This course builds on Latin I and requires that students have passed the final exam for Latin I. After the class is finished with the textbook, attention will be turned to orginal texts (Caesar).

Upon successful completion students possess the Latin skills required for some courses of study.

Latin III

This course builds on Latin II and requires that students have passed the final exam for Latin II. This course focuses only on original texts (Cicero). It is necessary for students who are taking the Latin exam in their doctoral studies and is direct preparation for the Latinum exam in Cologne.

Final exam: with dictionary

Oral Latinum Exam Preparatory Course

The reading course prepares students for the oral Latinum exam in Cologne and is taken parallel to Latin III. This course focuses only on original texts (Cicero, Seneca, Sallust, Plinius). The course is two hours long during the semester and is continued as an intensive course during the semester break before the exams in Cologne. Students can also take the course to prepare for the doctoral exam.
